Monique Champagne's Bio

When I was a little girl, I had such a wild imagination—and still do. I can fantasize effortlessly. I’ve always had a habit of writing everything down; it helps me process emotions and express how I feel. I enjoy jotting new ideas on paper, and writing fiction gives me the freedom to dream without limits! I’ve always imagined writing a book, and now I’m working on the sequel—all glory to God!

I’ve always tried to include His presence and Kingdom in my story, Ripple in Still Waters, including Tori as a guardian angel. The truth is, I did have a sister, Michelle, and this book was written in her memory. She lived and passed away at sixteen months old, before I was born. Two years later, when I came into the world, my family was still mourning her loss. I wanted to bring her back to life in my story—to see things from her perspective as Fiona’s guardian angel, Tori. I then created challenges and purpose for her character through Fiona, I also brought my father back to life in the story as Tony, sharing parts of his real story as well. My sequel continues this theme, bringing beloved family members who have passed on back to life within the pages. It’s a beautiful space for me to be in—where memories meet imagination.

I’ve always loved writing. All through high school, I was the one completely immersed in English and Literature books, eagerly raising my hand in class and remembering every detail about each story. I loved the fantasy! When I first started writing, I didn’t even have access to the internet. I took a writing course by mail, sending assignments back and forth, determined to learn and grow as a writer. Eventually, I decided to finally write the story that had been living in my heart for years. I sent my manuscript to two publishing companies—both wanted it! I ultimately chose the one that responded first, feeling it was only fair. After consistent hard work, my dream came true: Ripple in Still Waters by Monique Champagne was published. Later, I released the audiobook and eBook versions, along with hardcover and paperback editions. Now, I even have my own website—proof that with God’s guidance, all things are possible. It was all His idea!

I’ve always lived a full and active life. I enjoy jazzercise with my girlfriends, hiking, running, and spending time outdoors. I get up early every morning and enjoy my coffee before sitting at my computer by a big window overlooking peaceful countryside views. I check emails, plan my day, and dive into my writing. It doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do!

Every other day, I drive to visit my mother, and we spend time shopping, watching game shows, or simply enjoying each other’s company. My husband—my biggest fan and most patient supporter—has always been by my side. He was the first to proofread my work and encouraged me every step of the way. We married in 2020 after thirteen wonderful years together, and he remains my best friend in the world.

My days are full—cleaning, cooking, running errands, and finding time to write and read. I collect books with the hope of reading every one of them someday. I love spending time in my flowerbed and often write outside on the deck under a big maple tree that has grown right into it. Family is everything to me. I have a beautiful family with many branches and grandchildren, and we love getting together for barbecues, holidays, and special occasions. We make homemade pasta and spaghetti sauce from my husband’s grandfather’s recipe, passed down from Italy. Nobody ever leaves hungry! Those moments together are priceless, and I cherish them deeply.

I’m also blessed with a wonderful circle of friends I hold close to my heart. My husband and I enjoy building and painting birdhouses and butterfly houses, feeding the birds, boating, and cruising around the lakes. We live in the countryside, surrounded by nature—a peaceful and inspiring place to create.

Life is beautiful, and I’m thankful for every moment. Ripple in Still Waters is a quick read, but it carries a message for every reader. I write at my own pace, guided by faith, love, and purpose. The best is yet to come!
